Role Overview
As a General Foreperson, you will play a key role within the site management team, working closely with the Site Manager, Site Engineers, and Supervisors to ensure that projects run smoothly and meet the highest standards. You’ll contribute to upholding the company’s core values of safety, quality, time, and cost, and ensure that all work is completed to specification and in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation and adherence to safe working practices on site.
Ensure all activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner.
Maintain high standards of quality across all work delivered.
Coordinate resources—plant, materials, and labour—to ensure everything is available as needed.
Assist the Site Manager in supervising and controlling sub-contractor teams and their activities.
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure that construction activities do not disrupt ongoing supply and waste services.
Lead, motivate, and inspire the workforce, fostering a culture of safety, respect, and empowerment. What We’re Looking For
A strong understanding of civil engineering works, including:
Deep excavations and the selection and installation of temporary works systems.
Pipe-laying and chamber construction.
Concrete placing and finishing.
Plant selection and operation.
Lifting operations. You should have, or be prepared to achieve, the following qualifications:
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
CSCS Supervisor Card.
First Aid.
