About the Role In this role, you will play a key part in advising clients on a variety of cutting-edge digital transformation projects, data privacy, cybersecurity, and the implementation of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. You'll work closely with clients across diverse sectors, helping them adopt new technologies to enhance their productivity, improve competitiveness, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will be involved in advising on complex technology transactions, including software licensing, IT service agreements, and system implementations. The role provides the opportunity to work on projects spanning multiple industries, such as advanced manufacturing, energy transition, transport and logistics, and international trade. You'll also support clients exploring digital innovation, helping them navigate the regulatory landscape and implement technology solutions that drive business growth. Key Responsibilities: Advise on the legal aspects of complex technology transactions, including software licensing, IT services, data protection, and cybersecurity. Support digital transformation and innovation projects across multiple sectors, advising on technology adoption, risk management, and compliance. Provide strategic counsel on data protection and privacy matters, as well as cybersecurity, helping clients manage and mitigate risks. Collaborate with colleagues across national and international teams on cross-border transactions and regulatory matters. Guide clients on the use of emerging technologies, including generative AI, blockchain, and other transformative tools. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in digital technology, data protection, or related areas, gained at a City or large regional firm, or in-house. You will bring a strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for technology law. Key Requirements: At least 7 years of post-qualification experience in digital technology, data protection, or a related field. Demonstrated experience advising on complex technology transactions, digital transformation, data protection, and cybersecurity. Strong knowledge of software licensing, IT services, and regulatory compliance in the digital tech space. Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain is highly desirable. A practical, client-focused approach to legal issues, with the ability to deliver clear, actionable advice.
