Job Description:
The SEMH school is looking for a sincere individual who understands what it takes to work with society's most vulnerable students. Your priority as a Mental Health/SEMH Teaching Assistant is to support and encourage the social, emotional, learning, behavioral, and personal development of individual children. Can you demonstrate the value of an education to a child? Can you help give them the skills that enable them to be less vulnerable and susceptible to manipulation?
Responsibilities include:
1. Working 1:1 and in small groups with students who have been through significant traumas, focusing on restorative practices.
2. Engaging parents, guardians, and the community.
3. Setting clear objectives for students to make them feel valued within education.
4. Providing skills that help pupils gain independence and avoid entering the criminal justice system.
Salary: £80 - £95 per day

This role specializes in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and wellness concerns. Each student will have different objectives in and out of school. Some may live in supported living when they leave, and some may go to college. It is crucial to understand the traumas these children have faced and the importance of clear objectives being set for them.
