Salary from £36,825 to £39,780 pa depending on skills and experience.

Could you support the lives of refugees and other resettled groups in Ashford?
We are looking for an individual who has a high standard of written and verbal communication and has practical experience of working directly with vulnerable individuals, some whom may have complex needs to work within Ashford Borough Council’s Resettlement Team. Promoting integration of refugees and other resettled people who come to live in the Borough of Ashford.
In the role of Team Leader, you will be responsible for the line management of a small team of Resettlement Officers, who are front line staff supporting the client group in all aspects of their resettlement and successful integration into our Borough. The client groups will need differing levels of support according to individual need, in all aspects of their resettlement. Almost all clients will need support in navigating UK systems to remove barriers to successful integration.
You will have an agreed level of budget responsibility to support the daily operation of the Resettlement Team reporting regularly on the budget to the Resettlement Manager. You will also support the Resettlement Manager in developing and monitoring appropriate Key Performance Indicators and Service Plan Indicators, to support the delivery of the Housing Service Plan and Business Plan.
In order to be proficient in this role you will have an understanding and practical application of welfare benefits, housing and key legislation, along with experience of delivering resettlement plans and providing appropriate interventions with other professionals as you will be working with partners to identify opportunities for other new arrivals to the Borough who may face barriers and challenges. You will need to have experience in leading a team and managing performance.
You will need to have a full driving license with access to a vehicle and you will be expected to attend to out of hours emergencies as necessary.
