This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work with and make a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable learners in Calderdale. Alternative Provision across the borough is at capacity; this has contributed to a significant increase in children being permanently excluded from Calderdale schools. We are determined to address this situation and to support these young people in succeeding in their education.
In the past eighteen months we are proud to have opened our off-site Alternative Provision, Trinity Academy Carlton Mill, in the centre of Sowerby Bridge. We currently have 15 students on roll and work closely with both our teaching staff at Trinity Academy Grammar, and a series of external agencies and support networks to ensure we meet the academic and pastoral needs of each student.
As we continue to develop the academic and pastoral systems in place at Trinity Academy Carlton Mill, we are looking to expand our team of dedicated staff. We are therefore looking for someone with a passion for making the difference to the lives of young people, and we are hoping to find the right person to be part of this team leading in this development. Our aim is to address the lack of Alternative Provision available to 11–16-year-olds in the local area, through a high quality, bespoke educational support offer. We are committed to this project and have the necessary resources in place to support delivery.
We are therefore ready to employ a full-time teacher at Trinity Academy Grammar, working at Carlton Mill to support the excellent academic work already taking place there. At Key Stage 3 we are committed to teaching all national curriculum subjects within our 14-week lesson series. At Key Stage 4, our students work towards 8 qualifications, including maths, English and triple science. We are committed to finding the right candidate for the role and are open to applications from teachers from a variety of specialisms; however, a maths or English specialist is desirable.
Since becoming part of the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust, Trinity Academy Grammar has had a plethora of successes. In February 2023 Ofsted graded the academy as good with outstanding features in leadership and personal development. This was followed by being awarded the World Class School Quality mark in 2021. These transformational changes mean that it is an exciting time to join the academy, and we are incredibly proud of our successes. We are looking for the best people to work alongside our already committed team to continue our journey.
GCSE results are a validation of the work we have undertaken to transform the academy, and the results mean the academy is now recognised as one of the most improved schools in the country. As a result, this is a truly exciting time for us. We are determined to build on our success, increasing student numbers and constantly striving to better serve our students.
Our vision is to be the most transformational academy in England. If you would like to be part of our journey, we look forward to hearing from you.
