An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Health and Wellbeing team as a Wellbeing Hub Advisor. Secondment opportunity possible (Approval must be sought from your Line Manager before applying for a Secondment).
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Councils’ Health & Wellbeing Team is looking to recruit a highly organised, enthusiastic, and empathetic individual to work as a Wellbeing Hub Advisor.
About us: We are committed to our ambition that the people of our region will stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. To achieve that, we work in collaboration with people to assist them to improve their health, as well as forming partnerships with professionals, and we work together for the community we serve. We respect and embrace the diverse Borough that we work in, and strive to reduce health inequalities by making healthy lifestyles accessible to all. We also trust the individual contributions of each of our team members and are receptive to innovation. We firmly believe that people have untapped resources within them, that can be unleashed by providing high quality, non-judgemental support. Please see here for more information about the Wellbeing Service: Wellbeing Service.
About the role: As a Wellbeing Hub Advisor, you will receive referrals from health professionals and wider partners. You will also receive web-based and telephone enquiries from members of the public about our wide range of services. You will be making contact with people to discuss their individual circumstances and ultimately guiding them to the right support.
Here’s how our Wellbeing Hub Advisors describe their role:
We are a small, friendly team and the first point of contact for anyone accessing the variety of services available through the Hub. We get job satisfaction when we know that we have enabled someone to access the right support for them, whether that is getting information about a local community exercise class, completing a 12-week exercise programme, or achieving their wellbeing goals following one-to-one support.
About you: You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, be non-judgemental and approachable, as well as being able to contribute positively to team working. The ability to speak a community language is preferable. To find out more about the role, take a look at our Key Requirements document.
