An exciting opportunity has become available to work in The Meadows and Medical Day Unit.
Both of these units are outpatient areas, currently working 6 days a week. The Meadows specializes in the delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer treatments for all Haematology and Oncology patients.
The Medical Day Unit supports the delivery of treatments for many medical departments in the trust to support patients with long-term medical conditions.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) with a positive attitude towards their work.
As a nursing team, we are hardworking and friendly and pride ourselves on a very high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Obtain consent prior to giving care in accordance with Trust policies.
2. Duties are delegated to you in line with care plans.
3. Carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal/no supervision, including but not limited to:
1. Blood pressure monitoring
2. Oxygen saturation levels
3. Body temperature
4. Pulse rate and respiration rate
5. Glucose monitoring
6. Collection and testing of urine samples, faecal samples, sputum samples, and wound swabs.
4. Participate in patient assessment providing high-quality holistic patient care and escalate concerns about patients to other clinical staff.
5. Practice safe standards of care to patients following Trust guidelines and policies.
6. Provide clinical care in accordance with the infection prevention and health and safety policies and procedures.
7. Maintain the work environment in line with Trust infection control and patient safety policies.
8. Develop the skills to actively facilitate self-care and independence with patients.
9. Promote health education specific to the clinical area and in line with national and local policies.
