Bumper is a fast-growing payments scale-up and we’re excited to continue building on our growth having completed a successful Series B funding round in 2024. We’re looking to hire a dynamic and passionate PowerBI Developer, based in Sheffield or London.
Our Head Office is in Sheffield City Centre, with offices also based in London and Turkey. We've also expanded further, bringing retailers in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands on board, with the vision of being the leading automotive payment and insights platform!
A bit about the role...
As a Power BI Developer with Bumper, your primary focus will be on optimising and managing our Power BI environment, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and scalability. You'll design and implement robust Power BI models to improve performance and enhance report usability.
You will leverage your expertise in Power BI development, SQL, DAX, and data modelling to deliver insights that support key business decisions. We’re looking for a problem-solver with a passion for data who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a full-time hybrid role, with three days a week based at our Sheffield or London office.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
* Optimise and maintain Power BI models to ensure efficiency and scalability.
* Reduce latency between Power BI and data sources to ensure real-time data accuracy.
* Combine and organise data models for seamless integration
* Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls as needed.
* Standardise key measures across different models to ensure consistency.
* Analyse and execute the embedding of Power BI dashboards into applications.
* Develop and maintain clear documentation for models, reports, and measures for the development team and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver scalable solutions.
* Build aggregate tables and views for reporting purposes.
* Query and manage data from MySQL databases, writing complex joins, and subqueries, and optimising for performance.

What we are looking for in you…
* 5+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer, with a proven ability to design and implement semantic models.
* Experience in finance or consumer credit domains, ideally in FinTech.
* A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
* Expertise in managing and optimizing Power BI data models.
* Advanced DAX skills for calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.
* Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Charts.
* Advanced knowledge of Power Query.
* A solid understanding of star/snowflake schema design.
* Bonus: Version Control (Git, GitHub) and experience with deployment and data governance.
