Test Consultant (Customer Integration) - Smart Metering
Our smart metering industry client is seeking an experienced Customer Integration Engineer.
Objectives:
Work closely with our client's customers to support them through test phases, become the first line support for bugs, issues, and queries whilst in test phases. Provide support to the product managers to ensure device issues are captured early in the product life cycle and quality check accompanying product documentation. Lead on fielding day-to-day customer engagement, questions, escalations, risks, issues through to resolution with internal project/programme and BAU workstreams/departments. Support customer and Industry standard product testing, triage defects and issues with customers, and provide clear reporting of issues to their 2nd line support and/or development team. Support industry change pipeline and resulting impact of integration of change to customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Attend customer sites to support customer and product testing. This will include quarterly support of DCC interop testing in Manchester lasting two weeks at a time.
2. Field day-to-day customer engagement, questions, escalations, risks, issues through to resolution with internal project/programme and BAU workstreams/departments.
3. Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and implementation of the customer support tasks.
4. Partnering with customers on their requirements for test specifications and signoff.
5. Create and maintain customer products technical documentation via solution architects and Product Managers, including deployment documentation, functional and technical specifications, and incident reports.
6. Preparation of test reports and correspondence, to update customers or team members about the project status, progress, and risks.
7. Perform quality testing to ensure the successful delivery of their Smart Metering products.
Essential:
* Understanding of DCC SMETS2 Environments.
* SMETS2 Testing experience.
* Ability to successfully engage with customers to share delivery plans, risks, and manage customer expectations.
* Hold a recognised qualification in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Manage customer/industry testing defect process through identification to resolution.
* Be customer-focused, understand the impact of actions and change to internal delivery plans on customer plans.
* Ability to construct test plans.
* Work with automated test systems and adapt customer-provided test requirements.
* Possess a good understanding of system architectures, SQL, and communications technologies.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of technical customer support experience in a similar role.
Please note that this is a full-time 12-month fixed-term contract. Salary is up to £55k with 60% hybrid working.
