Team Manager - Placements Service We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time, Team Manager, Fixed Term position (9 months-starting July 2025), to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the Placements Service overseeing the Children’s Placements and Post 16 Accommodation Services. The Placement Service is a hardworking, supportive and friendly team that work in partnership with other professionals. They provide support, professional information & advice, and co-ordinate the provision of suitably matched placements and/or services that will achieve the most positive outcomes for our care experienced children/young people. As the Team Manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activity of the Placements Service which includes the Children’s Placements and Post 16 Accommodation Service. It is a demanding yet rewarding role, it is varied, and requires an individual with experience and knowledge of both Social Care and Commissioning. You will work closely with multi agency professionals and services, including Social Care, Fostering Service, Health, Education, Commissioning and external providers. Communicating effectively and adopting a ‘joined-up’ approach to assist in ensuring the effectiveness of commissioning a range of accommodation and care services to meet the needs of our care experienced children and young people aged 0-25yrs old. You will have oversight of the Staying Put Service which currently supports the carers for over 50 care leavers, and you will support the development of our Supported Homes and Homes 4 Teens services, which we hope will soon be registered with Ofsted. The Team Manager post is part of the wider management team and you will have line management responsibility for several staff, including the Registered Service Manager for Supported Homes & Homes 4 Teens.
