Are you looking for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner role working with critically ill patients?
Our caseload is of varied age groups and conditions from longer stay neurology or spinal patients to short stay frail patients undergoing surgery.
The Critical Care Unit (CCU) currently has 14 funded beds but there may be opportunity for an extended bed base. The Acute Respiratory Care Unit is an 8 bedded unit also offering fulfilling opportunities to work with patients with long-term conditions
Flexibility to work on a 7 day rota is required.

Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist you will be expected:
• To manage and organise a designated caseload of patients and own professional activities across the critical care unit and stepdown patients from critical care unit on other speciality wards as appropriate
• o provide specific skilled support to the registered therapists in providing technical therapy interventions to patients in a variety of settings
• To be able to work flexibly over a 7/7 service rota.
• To communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients using skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, negotiation and empathy. There may be barriers to understanding such as hearing loss, speech difficulty, anxiety, fear and depression.
