We’re looking for a dedicated Fire Maintenance Operative to contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and visitors alike. As a Fire Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of everyone within HMP Northumberland. You’ll be responsible for performing fire safety maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with relevant trade standards and health and safety policies. From inspecting and maintaining fire extinguishers and blankets to cleaning in-cell fire ventilation ducts and conducting smoke tests, you’ll contribute significantly to creating a safe and secure environment. You’ll also be required to maintain accurate records of all activities and work collaboratively with other staff and contractors. In addition, participation in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies ensures that you’ll be a vital part of our 24/7 response team.
