Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key member of the mechanical team, responsible for the design and development of electric motor and drive system components. You will work on a variety of projects, focusing on CAD design, material selection, technical drawings, and simulation analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop mechanical components for electric motors and drive systems.
2. Create 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings with correct tolerances and GD&T.
3. Conduct material selection, FEA design studies, and root cause analysis.
4. Support motor simulations and testing to validate designs.
5. Ensure compliance with UKCA, CE, and international standards.
6. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
7. Drive continuous improvements and innovation in product design.
8. Travel overseas as required to support projects.
What You'll Need:
1. A BEng/BSc or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in traction motor design for automotive/off-road applications.
3. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS Maxwell, and FEA analysis.
4. Understanding of mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis tools.
5. Knowledge of compliance and certification processes for UK and international standards.
6. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
7. A full driving license and willingness to travel internationally when needed.
