Purchasing Assistant - Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland
Utrust Recruitment are currently recruiting for a site in Northern Ireland for one of our clients who are looking to add a purchasing assistant to their small team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager by managing data, operating multiple computer systems, and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring the smooth flow of information across the company is crucial, as our purchasing department operates remotely from the head office.

The role of a Purchasing Assistant:
1. Work on multiple computer systems to complete a wide range of tasks, including data input
2. Liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders both orally and in writing
3. Handle complex data with attention to detail and accuracy
4. Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and inventory, ensuring data is easily accessible
5. Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods
6. Provide general administrative support to the purchasing department
7. Any other duties as required by the Purchasing Manager
The ideal candidate:
1. Must have experience on excel and be able to do Vlook ups and pivot tables
2. Strong negotiation skills and an ability to build productive relationships with suppliers
3. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
4. Strong communication, organisational and time management skills
5. Must have experience in a similar role
6. Strong attention to detail and data management skills
7. Naturally you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to take on challenges
This is a permanent job opportunity direct through the company following a successful interview stage. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-17:30pm, the salary is between £26,000-£28,000 depending on experience.
