We are seeking a capable, amenable and self-motivated gas turbine design engineer to join our team and drive our current and future gas turbine programmes forward. Key Qualifications BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or HNC/HDC with equivalent experience) 5 years of gas turbine relevant mechanical analysis experience Proficient in modelling parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (ideally, but not essential CREO, training provided) Proficient in producing detailed manufacturing drawings Experience with a PLM system (ideally Windchill, training provided) Experience with typical gas turbine materials, processes and practices Experience with small gas turbine engines is considered a major advantage Responsibilities Working with the GT50 Chief Engineer and technical specialists to develop mechanical design schemes and details designs of gas turbine parts and assemblies. Develop rotating and stationary components. Develop cast, fabricated and machined parts and assemblies. Develop schemes for engine dressing. Verify engine assembly processes. Develop schemes for controlling tolerance stacks and critical fits and clearances. Creating high quality 3D CAD models of engine parts and assemblies. Working closely with the production team to ensure parts and assemblies are robustly optimised for efficient manufacture. Creating high quality technical drawings and documentation. Working strictly to agreed deadlines. Management of design and airworthiness requirements. Working closely with technical specialists to rapidly optimize the design.
