We are looking for an experienced and passionate Employment Specialist!
As an Employment Specialist, you will be part of Rethink Mental Illness East Kent IPS Employment Service.
Working in our Operations Directorate, within our Community Services Division, you will work within a team that provides high-quality, safe, and person-centred employment support in the community – most importantly delivering great employment-related outcomes for people with mental illness.
You will work with the following people and teams:
* Rethink Community Services
* Rethink Employment Practice Forums
* Live Well Kent & Medway Teams
* Corporate Resources – Finance; HR&OD and ICT
* Quality and Service Transformation
Our East Kent IPS Employment Service provides help and support to people with mental health barriers who want to find and retain paid work and live within the Thanet and Folkestone areas of Kent.
Our service provides support and practical help to service users whose aim is to find full or part-time paid work. Employment Specialists offer one-to-one support around employment goals using an ‘Individual Placement and Support’ (IPS) model. The service is tailored to individual needs, and any difficulties related to finding work are addressed.
This is a home-based position where you meet service users in the community, which can include other organisations such as Job Centres, Employers, Mental Health Teams, other voluntary sector services, or community Libraries.
We deliver this service as a Sub-Contractor to Porchlight as part of the ‘Live Well Kent & Medway Contract’.
We provide support for people who are affected by common or severe mental health issues.
The service does not support people who want to obtain voluntary work or access education, as the remit of the service is paid employment. However, some people we support may be signposted into volunteering or education to gain new skills and experience to assist them with future paid work.
*Appointments will be at the minimum of the band.
*London Allowance is paid for roles that are based within the Greater London area only.
*We reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
