As a Product Technologist on our Homeware team, you’ll work closely with the wider department in order to develop and update products whilst maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Set quality standards and specifications to ensure Matalan achieves its goal of delivering outstanding value to its customers, contributing to continued growth for the company.
2. Educate our supplier base, ensuring product performance requirements are established and maintained through continuous testing and monitoring.
3. Agree manufacturing methods that are achievable in bulk production, resulting in products that will perform to requirements after purchase.
4. Work closely with the Buying department, aiming to build new quality initiatives into products to constantly improve the customer offer.
5. Undertake supplier visits to improve quality standards, building strong working relationships and increasing personal knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and developments.
6. Use your initiative and creative thinking to solve manufacturing and/or supplier issues.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Relevant, practical experience within a QA/QC department.
2. Experience of working within the Homeware industry.
3. Strong PC skills, preferably with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
