SEN Tutor – Functional Skills and Core Subjects
Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Pay Rate: £25–£30 per hour
Contract Type: Flexible, part-time or full-time opportunities available
Teaching Personnel is looking for compassionate, skilled tutors to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. This is a fulfilling opportunity for educators who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people who may not thrive in a mainstream classroom.
Role Responsibilities:
* Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Functional Skills (Maths and English) and/or core subjects
* Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual SEN needs, including EHCPs
* Build strong, supportive relationships with learners to encourage confidence and engagement
* Develop and follow structured lesson plans tailored to learning goals
* Record and monitor learner progress, providing regular feedback to Teaching Personnel and/or the commissioning body
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN, including but not limited to ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and SpLD
* A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification is preferred (e.g. PGCE, QTS, Level 3/4 Education & Training, or equivalent)
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible teaching style
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
