An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse on the EAU4 team.
EAU4 is a 26 bedded medical assessment unit with the ability to cardiac monitor patients. There is a strong focus on both team and multidisciplinary working to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. A necessity for this role is to have a broad acute medicine base and a flexible ability to work.
You will have experience of coordinating a busy ward area whilst supporting a team, be highly motivated and have a genuine desire to provide high quality patient care. You must be an experienced individual with appropriate current experience within a medical assessment area to enable you to lead and support the provision of safe, personalised and effective patient care. You will be expected to work with the team to promote change and continue the development of the unit and staff.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to maintain high standards of care, meeting national and local standards with regards to quality, safety and length of stay within the unit. As Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse you will be expected to promote innovative thinking and provide supportive leadership and managerial support to the team.
You will line manage a team of Nurses and HCAs, working with the Senior Sister to support staff development, manage sickness/absence and other HR related issues and ensure safe staffing levels through roster management. The Sister/ Charge Nurse role also includes holding the Divisional bleep to support staffing and patient safety as required.
