Measurement Technician
Assist with all measurement surveys undertaken by the Measurement Services team, to include:
* Gauging surveys using a variety of industry standard systems or proprietary technology developed by Balfour Beatty Rail
* Lasersweep and Platform Gauging Surveys
* Track Surveys using a variety of proprietary technology developed by Balfour Beatty Rail
* Scanner surveys
* Topographical Surveys
Responsible for the safe working of himself and others whilst carrying out his work, in line with the Company’s procedures.
Assisting the Survey Manager in establishing all deliverables in the required formats to their Customers.
Assist with the storing and distribution of data.
Accountabilities

Personal Qualities and Experience
* Minimum three years as a Surveyor
* ONC or HNC ideally or studying towards these qualifications
* PTS Card ideally, though training will be provided
* Very good knowledge of computer systems and modern survey equipment with data transmission
* Experience in writing method statements and risk assessments
* Co-operate and report to the Survey Manager
* Adaptable approach to work; prepared to develop team and train junior staff
* Ability to work in difficult conditions and meet deadlines
* Very accurate and meticulous
* Ideally have experience in a rail environment
