Package - £34,470-£41,500 dependant on skills and experience

Key Accountabilities:
• Management of the explosive disposal team including the management of the onsite Burning ground and offsite explosive disposal operations in accordance with the XTC explosive disposal plan, look ahead and deconflicted against all other activities and Facility outages.
• Management of the explosive clearance team including the management of the Explosive washdown and FFEH facility in accordance with the XTC explosive clearance plan, look ahead and deconflicted against all other activities and Facility outages.
• Deliver team accountability boards encouraging full participation and collation of activities to support the business material health in readiness to deliver the program and/or meet operational needs.
• Actively deputise for Material Seniors/Managers including the participation in management meetings presenting status updates and reports on the health of material control within each business area taking on board areas of concern for escalation.
• Actively lead a Logistics and Material Control team, and undertake activities such as, annual audits of stock against the program as initiated by the centralised audit and assurance team.
• Senior user for recognised corporate systems for all aspects of material control providing super user capability as SME for tracking, analysis of movements and holdings, validation, investigation and escalation of discrepancies, produce management reports for Senior Management.
• Firing Officer / TCO for explosive disposal with the understanding required to handle and use Explosives Substances & Articles (ESA) safely and to be able to recognise and deal with situations and incidents involving munitions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Day to day leadership of Logistics and Material Control operations with a specific focus on explosive disposal and clearance of explosive contaminated equipment and buildings ensuring that all inventory is managed appropriately.
• Responsible for ensuring that the standards of peoples training and competence for the safe operation of tasks within the area are met and encouraging staff development through coaching and mentoring.
• Ensure that movement of any material is conducted in a safe and secure manner complying with process for transportation nationally, internationally and dangerous goods moves.
• Whether supporting the program or operational need ensure that through life plans for material and components are enacted as well as maintaining stock replenishment mechanisms.
• Maximise stores/warehouse layout to improve efficiency and conformance to ISO requirements. Maintain a tidy and safe stores/warehouse area in accordance with company standards (Safe, Secure & Clean).
• Support each business area through knowledge, systems available and other subject matter expertise for the identification of components.
• Ensure that all localised documentation relevant to the workplace such as risk assessments, safe systems of work (SSOW) ensuring compliance with safety, security and legislative requirements is maintained.
• Management of Company vehicles (fleet) within area of responsibility - transport liaison officer (TLO) including the vehicle refuelling point. Management of POL Station including monitoring and fuel usage levels (where applicable).
• Develop verification/cycle count activities in the wider controllable asset arena such as IT Hardware Assets, Personal Inventory and Fixed Assets (Capitalised).
• Maintain a sound auditable trail of all logistics and material control activities to relevant standards and investigations into discrepancies and evidence of resolution.
• Resolve and/or escalate any material control related issues including root cause analysis.
