Job Description:
The salary for this role is £40,609 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP). Onsite working is expected for 3 days a week; however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role is to be based at the following sites: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role:

As Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and identifying viable technical solutions for the design, build, test, and commissioning of tritium compatible fuel cycle plant and associated equipment to deliver safe and operational facilities for tritium research.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide technical support in the design, build, installation, test, commissioning and operation of tritium compatible fuel cycle systems, processes, and associated equipment.
* Identify and apply appropriate research, design, development, testing, inspection, and evaluation to decide on suitable engineering solutions.
* Generate system and process simulations to demonstrate feasibility including operational safety and efficiency.
* Prepare reports/data and documentation, present research findings through appropriate meetings and forums.
* Co-ordinate timely and relevant procurement for equipment, components, and materials as and when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent level in relevant STEM subject, with demonstrable engineering experience.
* Understanding of safety management systems, including hazard identification and risk assessments.
* Ability to solve problems in a proactive manner and apply appropriate attention to detail.
* Practical experience of designing and carrying out experimental research projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable:
* Postgraduate degree in relevant STEM subjects.
* Chartered status with a professional body.
* Experience of working with hazardous/radioactive materials.
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
