Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to lead and further develop a high quality, responsive and accessible Rehabilitation and Recovery (R&R) psychology service within Swansea Bay University Healthboard, which includes low secure, locked rehabilitation, peri natal inpatient and community services The post holder will be welcomed into the broader Swansea Bay Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) psychology department, and will be expected to play an active role in collaborating with other psychologists on joint projects and initiatives. The postholder will join a Consultant Lead Psychology team within our Secure Services and Recovery (SSR) Division, with access to regular peer supervision CPD, reflective practice and service development work as well as having an ongoing programme of clinical and professional development. Main duties of the job The post holder will professionally lead a team of psychologists, ensuring that appropriate management structures and good clinical governance for the team is in place. They will support the Professional Lead for MHLD Psychology with recruitment to any additional, funded posts within the service area. Additionally, they will undertake direct and indirect clinical work, offering a range of psychological interventions to patients, their families and networks. They will work with the multidisciplinary ensuring that service plans, developments and pathways are psychologically informed.The lead psychologist will ensure systems are in place for reviewing and evaluating the service, and for ensuring good clinical governance across psychology. They will help to ensure other psychologists and psychological therapists have appropriate support and supervision in place and are enabled to develop their professional competencies and careers. The service and staff have excellent links with SBU psychology department. There are also good links to Swansea and Cardiff universities with opportunities for hosting MSc students and DClinPsy trainees.
