Summary:
eXmoor helps clients with their manufacturing of cell and gene therapies (CGT) and biopharmaceuticals. We provide; (1) translation consultancy to close the gap between R&D and clinical manufacture, (2) process development services from our purpose-built laboratory, (3) capital project design through to licensing and (4) GMP manufacturing for early phase clinical trials.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing life sciences/ engineering graduate with excellent communication skills to join our expanding commercial team as a Business Development Associate with a focus on Lead Generation. This position will be responsible for identifying new clients and project opportunities for eXmoor. This position would suit individuals with a technical or scientific background who want to gain valuable commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Job Description:
Job Purpose:
You will work alongside the Business Development (BD) Managers and your role will primarily be to secure new business leads. You will adopt a systematic approach to researching, identifying and contacting new prospective customer accounts. You will implement and support targeted marketing campaigns to drive lead generation (new business development). You will have the ability to qualify potential customer accounts and deliver qualified leads to the BD team to progress to proposal/ contract stage.
Main areas of responsibility/ key duties:
* Conduct market research to identify potential customer accounts that align with the target customer profile.
* Systematically interrogate market intelligence tools/ databases to extract information on new/ potential target customer accounts.
* Implement and coordinate marketing campaigns to target specific customer or geographic segments, working closely with other team members and outside agencies.
* Identify key decision makers and potential customer accounts and deliver qualified leads to the BD team for progression.
* Professionally communicate the eXmoor brand identity in all customer interactions.
* Demonstrate and explain the services and strengths of eXmoor to potential customers.
* Maintain and expand eXmoor’s database of prospects in the CRM system (Pipedrive).
* Contact new prospective customers via telephone, LinkedIn and email and achieve an agreed monthly target of outreaches.
* Book client meetings for the BD team and assist with conference preparation.
* Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls, emails and webforms and convert into qualified leads for the BD team.
* Accurately disseminate customer discussions and feedback in written call reports.
* Record relevant customer information, interactions, and sales activities in the CRM system.
* Stay updated on industry trends, biotech funding and market dynamics.
* Maintain a database of competitor intelligence to benchmark eXmoor’s services against.
* Prepare sales/ business development reports as required.
* Build relationships with the operational teams to understand the work we do and match it with customer needs.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* BSc in life sciences or engineering or equivalent experience.
* Motivated by marketing and sales and how they contribute to business success.
* Aptitude for online market research, web platforms and social media.
* Ability to adopt data-driven and systematic approaches to working.
* Excited by the prospect of joining a small, growing team in CGT.
* Strong communication skills and ability to influence.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
* Understanding and experience of biopharma and cell & gene therapy.
* Past laboratory or manufacturing experience.
* Experience of customer relationship management (CRM) systems e.g. Salesforce, Pipedrive.
* Experience in marketing or sales.
