Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an 8a (or Preceptorship Band 7) Psychologist to join the expanded Mental Health Liaison team based at Basildon Hospital. We welcome applications from psychologists who are newly qualified, as well as from those with more experience. The successful applicant will form part of the Clinical Health Psychology Services across Essex. We have four other Mental Health Liaison Psychological Services in Harlow, Chelmsford, Southend and Colchester, where there is a network of highly motivated, experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologist colleagues. The applicant will be working within the CORE 24 model of Mental Health Liaison, looking to support people accessing the acute hospital and staff to consider the psychological aspects of health.
Main Duties of the Job
This post introduces psychological assessment, intervention, consultation and support to the Mental Health Liaison team, consisting of Liaison Psychiatry and Psychiatric Nurses. This post is part of a service which has been established for several years. The role is welcomed by Basildon Hospital and there will be opportunity for working across wards and specialty areas.

The Clinical Health Psychology Services are for adults who are experiencing difficulties adjusting to serious chronic illness and other physical health conditions, such as Pain, Stroke, Breathlessness, and Long COVID.
Regular supervision will be provided by a senior Clinical Psychologist. EPUT is committed to the development of our staff; to ensuring job satisfaction, good quality output, and staff retention. CPD is strongly supported by the Trust with further development actively encouraged.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered with HCPC as practitioner psychologist
* Has completed training relevant to the post
Knowledge
* Has worked with people with mental and physical health difficulties
* Demonstrates assessment and intervention knowledge relevant to the area of practice
* Has worked in the NHS/or equivalent as a qualified member of staff
* Is able to demonstrate a desire and/or understanding of liaison working
* Demonstrates knowledge of working with systems
* Has worked in liaison settings previously
* Has experience of delivering supervision to other members of profession or MDT
