General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
Job Description
In this role you will be supporting the onsite General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDUK-MS) Facilities and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Teams to deliver operational excellence and maintenance of GDUK-MS sites and promotion of a positive health and safety culture.
Reporting directly into the Senior Facilities and Compliance Manager, you will be providing practical and physical support to maintain the fabric and compliance of the GDUK-MS Hastings facilities, ensuring the successful delivery of various facilities and cross functional project works, managing the successful delivery of services carried out by third party facilities contractors, and maintaining robust records management and department administration.
Day to day activities may include:
1. Providing assistance, support and attendance to rectify facilities services and building issues via the service desk process
2. Providing basic day to day support to the Facilities Team of electrical, plumbing and mechanical technicians - maintenance and services works, project works, program initiatives and business improvement works
3. Providing porterage and facilities support to onsite events and visits
4. Ground maintenance and seasonal site upkeep – winter gritting, snow clearance, sign cleaning, waste management
5. Support the monthly in-house PPM schedule
Qualifications
6. Experience of building facilities management and maintenance schemes
7. Hold a valid driving license, ideally with no points or penalities
8. Effective communicator, able to adapt style and build strong working relationships internally at various levels as well as externally, contractors and external agencies
9. Influencing and stakeholder management capabilities
10. Demonstrable experience of problem solving and multitasking
11. Significant knowledge and working capability with MS packages
12. Experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering environment beneficial
13. Trade experience beneficial but not essential
14. Demonstrable of H&S in the workplace. Working Safely or equivalent beneficial but not essential
Additional Information
We offer a salary of between £22,800 - £27,800 per annum, dependant on experience and qualification, plus of flexible benefits package.
