Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (NHS TT Hampshire)
Step 2 and 3 of the NHS Talking Therapies Hampshire service is provided in partnership by Solent Mind (Step 2) and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Step 3). PWPs are employed by Solent Mind to deliver low intensity support.
We have three office hubs. Please specify your first and second preferencefor your office hub in your application.
EAST HUB: Basepoint Business Centre, Aerodrome Rd, Gosport PO13 0FQ
NORTH HUB: Basingstoke Fire Station (The Annex), West Ham Roundabout, OldWorting Rd, Basingstoke RG22 6PD
There will be two interview stages:
* The first will be held in person at our Eastleighoffice (West hub). This will be a role play and aptitude exercise. You willhave a chance to meet some of our PWPs, see our main office, and ask questionsabout the role.
* The second will be held online, over MicrosoftTeams, with university representative on the panel.

Main duties of the job
This role involves attending the PWP training course at ReadingUniversity to learn how to deliver low intensity evidence-based interventions inthe NICE guidelines. The successful candidate will work with the service todeliver assessments and treatments for mild to moderate symptoms of commonmental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety.
The range of treatments you may provide would include one-to-one guidedself-help via telephone & video, with the opportunity to offer face-to-facein addition to cCBT programmes, webinars, workshops and psycho-educationalgroups.

Salary Range: £26,530 (Equivalent to NHS Band 4, upon qualification NHSBand 5)
Purpose
The purpose of this role is to attend the PWP training course to learnhow to deliver low intensity evidence-based interventions in the NICEguidelines whilst working with the service to provide the full range ofevidence-based treatment to a caseload of Step 2 patients.
The range of treatments you may provide would include one-to-one guidedself-help via telephone & video. This will include face-to-face appointments,cCBT programmes, webinars, workshops and psycho-educational groups.
You will need to work on a rotabasis, including late shifts to meet the needs of the service. You willalso be required to manage your own diary and caseload. This includes liaisonwith external services, data entry, and follow up work regarding patientappointments.
Principal Accountabilities
Clinical
Undertake collaborative assessments using NHS TalkingTherapies standardised measures by phone or face to face. In these assessmentsyou will identify the areas where the person wishes to see change orrecovery.
Assess risk to self and from/to others and takesafeguarding actions when needed.
When assessed as appropriate, offer low intensitytreatment options in accordance with NICE Guidance. This is delivered by phone,video, or face to face in identified sites across Hampshire.
Co-facilitate the delivery of group and workshopinterventions at community venues and via webinars.
When assessed as not appropriate for Step 2,exploreappropriate support with patient. This could be stepping up in the stepped caremodel, signposting/referring to other services, such as GPs, specialistservices, and/or social care.
Required to liaise with external services throughmeetings, emails, or phone calls about patients.
Work closely with Step 3 workers, ensuring appropriatestepping-up and stepping-down arrangements are in place in line with thestepped care approach and service policies and procedures.
Managing your diary and maintaining a caseload to meetthe service requirements.
Complete all requirements relating to data collectionand recording within the service.
Recording all clinical and nonclinical activity on ourpatient management system in a timely manner.
Complete Patient Experience Questionnaires (PEQs) withpatients.
Administration
Carryout reviews after treatment with patients where required/appropriate.
Provideresources to patients by email or post, considering their accessibility needs.
Completewritten referrals to other external services.
Sharing informationwith external services involved in the patients treatment. Obtain patient notes from historic/previous services.
Input the Minimum Data Set (MDS) into the patientdatabase in a timely manner.
Ensure signposting information is kept up to date.
Complete discharges within atimely manner.
Professional
Agreeing and upholding confidentialityagreement with patients.
Prepare for and attend clinical/managerial supervisionon a regular basis. Attend all supervisions, wellbeing meetings, and servicemeetings.
Participate in individual annual appraisal review andrespond to agreed service objectives.
Once Qualified, work towardsAccredited status with either the British Psychological Society (BPS) or theBritish Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychologists (BABCP). Thecost of this registration is met by the individual staff member and will berequired as part of maintaining their contract of employment.
Training
Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the courseat identified University.
Receive supervision from educational providers inrelation to course work to meet the required standards.
Attend relevant training/workshops in line withidentified professional objectives.
General
Adhere to the aims, values,policies and procedures of Solent Mind, particularly safeguarding and health& safety.

* An understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
* An understanding of the NHS Talking Therapies service and the Stepped Care Model
* Ability to build rapport / therapeutic alliance with patients

Qualifications
* Hold a level 4 qualification to be able to enter the course at an undergraduate level
* Willingness and ability to undertake the PWP training course at Reading University
* Honours degree or equivalent in a discipline connected to mental health
