We are looking for experienced conveyancers to oversee residential property transactions from instruction to completion, ensuring all legal requirements and service levers are met.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional service, ensuring smooth and efficient property transactions, and helping to retain high customer satisfaction as evidenced by our 5-star rating on Google.
Specific Responsibilities of an Experienced Conveyancer
1. Perform fee earning work accurately, efficiently and profitably, in accordance with our quality procedures.
2. Be fully responsible for their own caseload from opening the file through to completion, ensuring that all files are maintained in good order in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and following regulatory and statutory requirements.
3. Manage your own varied caseload, monitoring and delivering fully against personal and team targets.
4. Provide supervision, support and coaching to team members who are supporting your cases and the wider team as a whole.
5. Draft, review, and finalise contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documents related to property transactions.
6. Conduct thorough property searches, including title searches, land registry checks, and local authority searches to identify any potential legal issues.
7. Order Landlord/LPE1 packs and deal with exchange and post-exchange work, including submission of SDLT returns and AP1s.
8. Proactively deal with the other side solicitors, mortgage lenders, brokers, clients and local authorities.
9. Provide clear and consistent updates to clients, estate agents throughout the conveyancing process, and effectively manage client expectations.
10. Optimise the client experience through the use of our conveyancing systems and technology.
11. Provide clients with legal advice relevant to their cases, recording the advice and representing the best interests of the client in the transaction.
12. Provide advice to clients over the phone and in writing, with some face-to-face client meetings.
13. Deal with complex enquiries, researching previous cases and relevant laws to provide accurate advice.
14. Develop and update legal knowledge in chosen area(s) of law in accordance with SRA Continuing Professional Development requirements by personal attendance at training courses, webinars, self-study and perusal of reference material.
15. Compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules.
16. Recognise potential risks and resolve issues without putting the client or business at risk, ensuring that the firm’s risk management procedures are adhered to.
17. Ensure that all files are billed correctly with the appropriate fees and on completion, funds are sent to the correct place.
18. Maintain IT skills appropriate to modern legal practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has:
* Extensive experience working within a busy, fast-paced conveyancing department.
* At least 3 years of experience managing a residential property portfolio of cases from start to finish.
* Experience in New Build and Shared Ownership essential.
* Strong understanding of property law and conveyancing procedures.
* Ability to independently establish priorities and manage deadlines.
* Resilience with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills, and an analytical approach to come to the best legal solutions.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills (Planning and multi-tasking skills are essential).
* Commercial awareness, keeping up to date with business and industry news.
* Attention to detail, extremely accurate in research and the drafting of documents.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Proficiency in using conveyancing software and legal databases (Training in any of our conveyancing systems not previously used, such as Perfect Portal, Infotrack & LEAP, will be provided).
* The ability to be adaptable and flexible, working on your initiative as well as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to connect with a wide array of audiences by phone and email.
* Experience dealing with a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals.
* A passion for providing excellent customer service, going above and beyond expectations, and developing professional working relationships with clients and your team.
* Ability to be flexible and empathetic to deliver client needs.
