Join to apply for the Surgical Care Practitioner role at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
You will join an established team of 5 experienced Orthopaedic Surgical Care Practitioners (SCPs) with extensive experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department has 16 Consultants working within four different subspecialties. Each Surgical Care Practitioner specializes within the team to support elective activities; this includes working in theatres, clinics and on the wards.
SCPs are pivotal in supporting the patient pathway to reduce the length of stay and avoid hospital re-admission, whilst seeking innovative ways to support our most complex patients. The role of the SCP is dynamic, varied and exciting.
You will have mentor support within the SCP team as well as clinical supervision from an orthopaedic consultant to support your training and qualification.
* Work as a peri-operative practitioner within the ward, A&E, theatre and outpatient clinic settings.
* Participate in operative procedures and aspects of pre and post-operative care of Trauma & Orthopaedic patients, under the direction of the Consultant Orthopaedic surgeons.
