Hours: 36 per week
An opportunity has arisen within Roads & Infrastructure for the permanent post of Engineer, Structures - based normally at Waverley Court, but at time of writing working in a hybrid arrangement between home, office and on site on live projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake this challenging but highly rewarding role. The Council's vast array of over interesting bridges and other structures is an excellent platform to develop your career and make your mark on Edinburgh. The role will involve all aspects of bridge and road structure management including inspections, reporting, maintenance projects, site supervision, technical approval and undertaking various duties under CDM legislation.
Our forward-thinking and carbon-conscious team is embracing technologies such as GIS, information modelling, laser scanning, drone surveys, and digital asset management including use of mobile devices. The successful candidate will be able to influence the future direction of this work in conjunction with external consultancies and contractors, whilst in a Client role.
