Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a PMO Specialist on a 3 month Contract, based in Rugby.
This role is INSIDE IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PMO Design and Implementation:
o Assist in the design and establishment of the Portfolio Management Office, including the development of governance frameworks, standards, and processes specific to the client.
o Contribute to the creation of templates, tools, and methodologies tailored to support effective portfolio management.
o Support the implementation and rollout of PMO processes across the organisation.
2. Governance and Compliance:
o Ensure all portfolio projects comply with client policies, procedures, and standards.
o Develop and maintain a compliance tracking system for portfolio projects.
3. Project Monitoring and Reporting:
o Track portfolio project progress against schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
o Generate and distribute comprehensive portfolio status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
o Identify, analyse, and report on project risks and issues within the portfolio.
4. Process Improvement:
o Continuously evaluate and improve portfolio management processes and tools specific to the client
o Provide training and support to project managers and teams on PMO standards and best practices.
o Implement lessons learned from completed projects into the PMO methodology.
5. RAID Management:
o Develop and maintain a risk management framework for the PMO.
o Facilitate risk assessment workshops and risk mitigation planning for portfolio projects.
o Monitor and report on project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Collaborate with the UK Head of Portfolio Management Office, Business Unit leads, PMs, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with portfolio goals.
o Facilitate portfolio governance meetings and review sessions.
o Provide guidance and support to project teams on PMO processes and requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or PMO roles.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Experience in portfolio management is desirable.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Planview, MSP).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
