Rare Restaurants are seeking an experienced Head of People to support our People Director in delivering 100% hospitality to all of our employees. In 2024 we hit our goal of achieving The Best Place to work Times Top 100 and we simply want to build and develop this, Our future Head of People will be responsible for driving all things People you will focus on everything from engagement, performance management, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, recognition and communication to living and breathing our company values.
The Head of People will report into our People Director and will support leading the wider People team which includes Recruitment, L&D and our fantastic People Advisors.
Rare Restaurants currently operates 22 restaurants across the UK with the head office located in Bank (Central London). We currently have around 1350 staff across our brands with future expansion plans in the works.
Responsibilities:
* Supports the People Director to deliver on People strategy and key initiatives
* Leads the HR Advisory Team and act as deputy to People Director, covering all annual leave.
* Drive Employee Engagement across the business through initiatives including Best Place to Work, Values Champions, Employee events etc such as the Head Office HOOP
* Day to day control and management of Benefits administration, Pay bandings, Job Descriptions, Annual Bonus administration, Monthly Payroll checks, whilst ensure our polices, procedures and handbook are not only industry leading but legal and up to date
* ER including First point of contact for any employee relations issues, Full support, advice and guidance on all employee relations matters including general enquiries; law; procedures; disciplinary & grievances or absence issues, Account management of outsourced, employment law advisory team
* Coaching managers to help develop their people management skills as required.
* Undertake projects which will support the Companys Aims/Strategies and/or improve the effectiveness of HR.
Requirements:
* Has a minimum of 5 years experience within a multisite generalist HR leadership role, with previous exposure of managing an array of complex employee relations issues, leading from the front with our values and culture
* A comprehensive understanding of UK employment law
* A proven track record of coaching and role-modelling integrity is key
* Ability to take initiative and work autonomously without close supervision, possessing great interpersonal working skills throughout the UK
* Willingness to learn and travel throughout the UK to visit our teams based within our Restaurants
