We currently have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our Senior Leadership Team as Senior Student Development Leader with the remit of Trust Attendance Champion.
The post holder is responsible for leading, championing and improving student attendance across The Academies, having an oversight of academy attendance on a day-to-day basis and developing effective systems and structures that ensure the Academy’s strategic aims are achieved. The Senior Student Development Leader (Trust Attendance Champion) will implement effective systems and build close and productive relationships with parents/carers and students to discuss and tackle attendance issues.

The SSDL Trust Attendance Champion is responsible for:
• Leading, championing and improving attendance across The Academies
• Leading, coordinating, line managing and performance managing the attendance team and resources
• Setting a clear vision for improving and maintaining good attendance
• Evaluating and monitoring expectations and processes
• Having a strong grasp of absence data and oversight of absence data analysis
• Producing reports and identifying key insights
• Regularly monitoring and evaluating progress in attendance
• Establishing and maintaining effective systems for tackling absence, ensuring they are adhered to by all staff
• Liaising with pupils, parents/carers and external agencies, where needed, including the local authority to ensure best practice is implemented
• Building close and productive relationships with parents/carers to discuss and tackle attendance issues
• Creating intervention or reintegration plans in partnership with pupils and their parents/carers
• Implementing the most up to date DfE guidance on attendance for the Trust and the academies / schools within the Trust
