Senior Geophysicist Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Geophysicist to join our growing team based in Lymington, UK.

Role Overview:
The Senior Geophysicist will lead field teams, acquire geophysical data, and assist in data processing and interpretation. This is a great opportunity to build on your skills, gain further exposure to interesting projects, and contribute to our company's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead offshore surveys, maintaining effective communication with the office and building strong client relationships
* Project manage survey projects where necessary
* Assist in leading data acquisition, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality and consistency of field data
* Liaise with clients and organisations throughout project lifecycles
* Support Project Managers in technical matters
* Take ownership of data archive and repository management
* Lead mobilisations, calibrations, and equipment verifications
* Be a technical authority on geophysical survey equipment and software
* Continual training/development of junior staff
* Adhere to and develop company QHSE standards
* Implement best practices for handling, maintaining, and storing survey equipment
* Troubleshoot inconsistencies in data and ensure compliance with project scope
* Assist with data processing, including side scan sonar, magnetometer, and sub-bottom profiler data
* Data quality control and assurance
* Research new technologies and arrange system/software trials
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, such as Geology, Geophysics, or related marine or earth science
* At least 3 years working onboard vessels undertaking marine survey operations
* Experience leading small teams and vessel mobilisations
* Strong problem-solving and data troubleshooting skills
* Competent in GIS and spatial data (QGIS & ArcGIS)
* Understanding of data management and coordination skills
* Good interpersonal and written communication skills
* High level of computer literacy and attention to detail
