Job Description Lifecycle Engineer (Secondment 2 Years) Full Time Bristol or Glasgow The Joint Platform Engineering Team (JPET) is a collaborative team comprised of members from the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), Babcock and Rolls-Royce, with the goal of delivering evidence-based maintenance requirement optimisation recommendations to the SDA, to reduce overall maintenance volume and increase platform availability. As a part of this team, a successful candidate would be responsible for conducting and completing maintenance requirement investigations with fellow peers that highlight where optimisation can be made or prove that the current maintenance is already optimal. What you will be doing The successful candidate will be accountable for several maintenance requirement/optimisation investigations at any one time and will be responsible for driving them to their conclusions. These investigations are led by an individual but often completed using the collective experience of the wider team as well as the relevant Design Authorities (DAs) sat within the SDA. The JPET operates as a Scrum Agile team, utilising Azure DevOps for work management and planning. Desirable Experience: Experience within the UK Submarines Enterprise (e.g. Navy, MOD, Prime Industry Partner etc) Experience developing and challenging maintenance requirements, Safety Case experience, Investigative/Questioning mindset, Experience with Azure DevOps, Report writing. The Core JPET team are currently based out of the Babcock Technology Centre (BTC) in Bristol, next door to MOD Abbey Wood building. Our team is currently comprised of members predominantly situated in the Bristol area. However, we also have contingent’s groups of people based at Devonport, Clyde and a few places in between so having a working practice suited for hybrid working arrangements is a must.
