Job Overview
A skilled professional to work in a busy customer-focused and technically challenging environment within ICT Services.
Responsible for supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across all systems.
Experience of ICT support role encompassing some of the following:
* VMWare/Patching/Server
* Hardware/Server Storage/AD
* Management and Group
* Policy/Backup and Restore/File Services/Application Installation and Configuration
Experience of setting up new servers and services in a variety of settings including business-critical applications.
Main Duties of the Job
Reporting to the ICT Business Systems Manager, the post holder will be part of a team that supports the ICT infrastructure of Aneurin Bevan Health Board, which comprises over one hundred sites, including hospitals, clinics, and associated support and administration services.
The post holder will work as part of the Systems Support Team within ICT Services and will undertake the technical tasks required in providing a comprehensive systems support service to the Health Board and other organisations.
The post holder will be involved in project and technical support. This is a cross-functional unit where all members participate in all operational aspects of the team. Team members are empowered to provide a level of service that will ensure fulfilment of the terms and conditions of the Service Level Agreement for systems support services between ICT Services and its customers.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent demonstrable level of work experience and knowledge.
Desirable Criteria
* ITIL Intermediate Lifecycle qualification
* One or more certified MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), MCP (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).
* Formal project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE 2).
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Excellent team worker, able to work collaboratively as part of an innovative and agile team, whilst being able to manage personal workloads to meet agreed deadlines.
* In-depth understanding of other ICT server systems including virtualisation, remote desktop, and server hardware.
* Evidence of leading the design, development, and deployment of computer system upgrades and implementations.
* Experience of using a major call management/helpdesk application.
* Providing expert advice and knowledge of digital technology solutions, their implementation, and ongoing management.
* Identification of risks and risk management.
* Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Desirable Criteria
* Delivery of server services using core Microsoft solutions, leading application vendors, and Enterprise standard hardware.
* Experience of SQL Server environment.
* Experience of Citrix environment.
* Experience of setting up new servers and services in a variety of settings including business-critical applications.
* Experience of ICT service provision in a health care setting.
* Experience of technical systems management in a Unix environment.

Desirable Criteria
* Understanding of ITIL service management functions and processes.
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.

* Able to meet travel requirements of the role.
* Flexible approach to the needs of the service.
