About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Studio Manager to be the driving force behind our Studio team. You’ll inspire Photographers, Stylists, and Post Production Operatives to achieve peak efficiency and elevate the Studio’s quality of service. With your enviable network of industry contacts, you’ll secure top-tier freelance creatives when needed, ensuring our imagery always stands out. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a fast-paced, fashion-focused environment.
You will:
* Ensure the Studio is fully resourced to meet tight deadlines, delivering high-quality outputs consistently.
* Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline Studio operations.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with sub-contractors to ensure smooth collaborations.
* Oversee financial processes, including purchase orders, invoice payments, and associated expenditures, while keeping budgets on track and minimising costs.
* Monitor and report monthly budgets for the Studio, freelancers, and models, ensuring financial efficiency.
* Maintain high operational standards within the Studio, performing quality control to ensure all work meets the required level of excellence.
* Represent the Studio at client and stakeholder meetings, acting as a key point of contact.
* Travel between sites and Head Office as required to support Studio operations.
* Oversee workloads and coordinate freelance requirements with the Studio Coordinator to meet project demands.
* Organise and manage the production and coordination of shoots, liaising with the Head Office team to gather necessary information.
* Conduct regular reviews with direct reports, identifying development opportunities, setting SMART objectives, and revisiting these monthly to adjust priorities if needed.
* Ensure Studio spaces remain organised and well-maintained, prioritising cleanliness and professionalism.
* Motivate and inspire the Studio team to achieve their goals while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
* Administer First Aid when needed and serve as a fire warden, ensuring the safety of all colleagues.
* Promote a safe work environment by addressing hazards, reporting incidents, and managing accidents appropriately.
* Proven management experience within a studio production role, overseeing diverse creative outputs.
* Exceptional organisational skills, capable of managing multiple studios and activities, including single-image photography, model imagery, creative still life, and video production.
* Advanced leadership and management expertise, with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate teams to deliver outstanding results.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with peers, senior management, and external suppliers.
* Strong experience in managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and negotiating supplier costs.
* Skilled negotiator and decisive project manager with a results-driven mindset.
* Passionate about managing creative teams, both internal and freelance, and fostering collaboration across diverse skill sets.
* Collaborative team player, adaptable under pressure, with a flexible approach to shifting priorities and business needs.
* Sharp creative eye and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring outputs are of the highest quality.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements within a studio environment.
* Proficient in capture and shoot software, with strong technical expertise.
* Experienced in workload tracking and scheduling, with fluency in both Mac and PC systems.
