Are you an experienced Events Duty Manager looking for a new role? We are looking for a super organised team player who will
efficiently oversee event set up proactively identifying and addressing any issues in a professional and calm manner. Most of the
events that we hold are weddings so if you have experience in this area that would be fantastic, but we would love to hear from
candidates with experience of managing private and corporate events too.
About us
The Orchard is a very special wedding venue in Maidstone, we are also pleased to host private events and corporate events at our
Bearsted location. The Orchard is regarded by many as one of the most outstanding wedding venues in Kent, situated in the heart of
the Garden of England and nestled within the beautiful Kentish Countryside.
The Role
The Events Duty Manager will ensure the smooth running of events. They will be responsible for managing stock, maintaining a clean
and safe working environment and coordinating staff.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for the role will be centred around three areas as follows:
Events
* Responsible for overseeing the complete event set up.
* To complete task lists for the operational team ahead of events alongside Supervisors when necessary.
* Ensuring excellent personal appearance of all staff members.
* In attendance as required by the nature of each event. The role will be inclusive of morning, day and night shifts in line with
business needs.
* The role holder will need to show full flexibility on event days and acknowledge and accept that on occasion, should there be
any issues on the day, you may be required to work longer hours to accommodate business need.
Housekeeping
* To maintain an excellence standard of housekeeping throughout using daily checks and identifying maintenance issues.
* To ensure tasks such as bar deep cleans, cellar cleans, painting and any general housekeeping or maintenance issues are dealt
with in a timely manner.
Health and Safety
* Responsible if on duty for the security of the premises and completing the security log.
* To arrange and complete quarterly training sessions to include health & safety and fire drills and identifying any further
training needs alongside the Front of House Manager.
* To complete fire & alarm logbooks.
* Ensuring all working areas are clear and hazard free daily.
Key skills required
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Experience of managing or supervising teams
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* The ability to multitask and effectively meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to build a strong rapport with clients and deal with any issues in a calm and professional manner.
* A commercially astute approach
* Prior experience of managing H&S
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the role, weekend work will be required.
