Purpose of the role
As a Process Engineer at CIL, you will be primarily responsible for providing technical support to our production and engineering teams, whilst introducing New Product (NPI), Projects and Product via the adequate engineering processes. Additionally, you will design, test, and implement new strategies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring optimal running of manufacturing equipment and processes to improve quality and productivity.
Primary duties & responsibilities
* Business: Support other business functions and promote and enhance the CIL service offering to our existing & potential new customer base.
* Product Validation: Technically lead the Process Engineering Group to ensure that manufactured products comply with customer specifications and CIL Engineering and Production standards of excellence.
* Process Verification: Use documented Standard Operating Procedures and Process Capability to continuously verify manufacturing processes and current & new equipment.
* Engineering Documents: Ensure CIL Management Procedure and Standard Operating Procedures and Assembly information pertaining to Engineering are reviewed for accuracy and compliance.
* Continuous Improvement: Support development of production processes, ensuring best possible quality, reducing waste, and increasing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Identify, measure, monitor, and report on Key Process Indicators to help drive improvement.
* Production Support: Support Production Teams in all technical matters, addressing technical issues, re-optimizing processes, and troubleshooting.
* Production Training: Support Production Teams in identifying training needs for new and current processes, and assist in training plans and documentation to deliver training on equipment and processes.
* Production Discipline: Work with supervisors and production teams to ensure standards of workmanship are met and the working environment is maintained. Help resolve instances of inadequate technical excellence and identify developmental training and personal improvement plans for individuals.
* Customer Support: Review new and/or up-issued customer documentation to ensure CIL documents and processes are compliant with customer requirements. Communicate with customer technical teams on technical matters/queries, ensuring appropriate actions are identified, planned, and completed according to agreed time-scales.
* Business Management Systems: Assist Head of PCBA Engineering in identifying, documenting, recording, and reporting on procedures, processes, and key performance indicators.
Qualifications
* Hold a Formal Engineering Qualification, ideally within Electronics.
* Minimum of 2 years working in a relevant manufacturing environment as a Process Engineer or similar.
* Obtain HNC or HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (advantageous).
* Adhere to Health and Safety requirements and regulations.
* Assist in the training of team members ensuring best practice standards are maintained.
* Carry out any other reasonable request which is for the benefit of the business.
