Taunton School Sports Centre requires qualified Swimming Teachers and Lifeguards to join our Swim School team to deliver a range of group and 1:1 lessons for children and adults. There may also be the opportunity of working additional hours covering Junior School lessons on weekday mornings and afternoons. The Sports Centre operates for both school and external customers and is open 7 days a week. Lifeguarding hours are also available if qualified. More Information & How to Apply You will teach swimming lessons to the Swim England (ASA) framework, whilst promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons. Plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans. Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly. Identify participants abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential. Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer. Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques. Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance. Evaluate sessions and give feedback. To be a Swim Teacher you must hold a Swim England (ASA) Level 2 or above swimming qualification and have experience of teaching pre-school children and school age children. If you do not hold this qualification but have a keen interest in being trained and becoming one of our Swim Teachers, we will provide you with Level 1 and Level 2 training (via a training agreement). During this training period you can undertake a role as a Water helper and/or a Lifeguard (if you hold a NPQL qualification).
