We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Dissection Assistant to join our team at the Animal and Plant Health Agency. In this role, you will provide critical support for the ante and post-mortem examination of large animals and poultry.
You will be a key member of our Pathology and Animal Sciences Department, contributing to the high disease containment post-mortem team. Your responsibilities will include sampling and humane euthanasia of livestock using appropriate methods, assisting with tissue location/sampling as required by experimental protocols, and safely transferring and submitting samples from the post-mortem room to relevant laboratory facilities following Good Laboratory Practices.
Estimated salary: £32,220 per annum.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need experience working in a scientific environment and dissection/anatomy skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential, along with motivation, proficiency in common software applications, and a BTEC HNC/BSc degree or equivalent technical qualifications in biological/biomedical/bioveterinary science.
