A food manufacturing company is looking for an Engineering Shift Manager to oversee an engineering team and ensure smooth, efficient operations. About the Role:
As the Engineering Shift Manager, you'll be responsible for a team of 5-10 Engineers and Technicians on shift, managing daily tasks, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll prioritise safety, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support team development while driving efficiency and reliability in plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor your shift team, ensuring a positive, safe, and engaging work environment.
* Process Efficiency: Oversee daily engineering activities, respond to breakdowns, and improve maintenance processes to keep production moving smoothly.
* Change Management: Implement new ways of working, lead or significantly contribute to projects, and drive operational improvements.
* Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, oversee permit management, and maintain accurate equipment and process documentation.
* Reporting & Communication: Produce shift reports and collaborate with other departments to share insights and ensure seamless handovers.
Your Experience:
* Manufacturing Experience: Background in fast-paced manufacturing engineering, ideally in the food or drink manufacturing industry.
* Leadership: Proven experience of managing a team of Engineers in a manufacturing environment.
* Potential for Advancement: Ambition to grow into a senior role, with the potential to become a future Engineering Manager.
