About the Team & Role:
You would be joining the Digital Innovation team, part of the Digital & ICT service who deliver and support technology solutions for the officers and councillors of Gloucestershire County Council (including the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, NHS partners, schools and other services that work with the organisation).
As a Microsoft Power App Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform. You will work closely with business stakeholders and other team members to understand their needs and translate them into functional and user-friendly applications. You may also work with third-party developers on a project-by-project basis. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills along with an eye for good governance so that you can deliver high quality, useful and innovative solutions to real-world business problems.
Being present throughout the whole software lifecycle to offer insight and advice is really important to us. In return, you will join a friendly, supportive team with a commitment to professional development and enthusiasm to advance the council’s digital capability.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have experience using low code platforms (preferably Microsoft’s Power Platform) in an enterprise environment. You should be comfortable working with stakeholders to understand their requirements, prototype solutions, refine designs and in delivering early life support for your solutions. In addition, experience reviewing legacy solutions and re-engineering their capabilities using new technologies would be advantageous.
You should be able to clearly articulate your ideas, concepts and technical details to non-technical stakeholders, effectively collaborate with team members and other departments and be able to adjust to new challenges quickly. If you have had to manage several pieces of work at once, let us know how you did that and how you managed your time effectively to meet deadlines. We will encourage you to stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in technology so you must be comfortable with self-study and enjoy researching new ways of using technology to make the way we work better for all.
Please read the job profile which provides further information on the experience and attributes sought of our ideal candidate.
The Digital & ICT service support the Council’s Agile working policy and expect team members to work an average of two days per their working week in the office, which is based in central Gloucester, and to attend 'in person' meetings as and when required. New starters will be required to come into the office more often during their induction.
