About the Role
This service is part of our Community Partnerships Division, which this year received a CQC rating of 'Good'. This is a unique opportunity to work as an Assistant Psychologist embedded in probation offices under the guidance and supervision of qualified psychologists from St Andrew's Healthcare.
Within this role, you will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS) by providing psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist. You will work independently according to a plan agreed with the psychologist and within the overall framework of Mental Health Treatment Requirements (MHTRs) and St Andrew’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
It is desirable that applicants have some experience working as an Assistant Psychologist and hold a relevant Master’s degree in psychology. It is a requirement to be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
Responsibilities
1. Facilitate effective communication within the National Probation Service (NPS) and other agencies, including primary care services, specialist mental health services, social care, and third sector services to ensure continuity of care.
2. Provide face-to-face interventions, with some remote sessions offered to meet client needs and preferences.
3. Travel outside of Norfolk and to main working bases for training, with reimbursement provided.
