Start Date : 6 January 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter Duration of Post : 3 years Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Professor Nicholas Feasey conducting research into the molecular epidemiology of complex infection and antimicrobial resistance for the University of St Andrews. The primary duties will be to : Analyse plate-sweep metagenomic data arising from the TRACS study Build collaborations with other Schools at the University of St Andrews (Computer Sciences, Geography, Mathematics & Statistics) and with the data teams at NHS Fife to establish infection databases and dashboards Work with the broader team and the Department of Microbiology at NHS Fife to establish a whole genome sequencing platform at the Victoria Hospital laboratory Seek competitive funding The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in 2024 with expertise in both molecular microbiology and pathogen bioinformatic pipelines. The post is available for 36 months starting 6th January 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
