This entry level role is perfect for someone looking to develop their fundraising experience, with an interesting and varied workload, and potential to grow the role. You will be working to support the Marketing Team at animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), helping to raise funds to support the charities work, which in turn will mean more animals receive life-saving veterinary care. This role will be varied and offer many learning opportunities. You will be assisting with a variety of fundraising tasks, including engaging with supporters taking on fundraising challenges, communicating with our members, thanking donors, supporting new fundraising appeals and initiatives and providing day to day admin support. This is a new role and offers a great opportunity for the right candidate. There will be opportunity to learn new skills within a friendly team. This role can be full time or part time, depending on the candidate. There is some flexibility for working at home, but the role will require 2-3 days a week at the Head Office in Cranborne, Dorset. About Us At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year. We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Since the project began, over five million dogs have been vaccinated against rabies and over nine million children have been educated in rabies prevention, protecting the lives of people and animals. Last year, WVS treated over 100,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,000 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Main Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the sending out of supporter communications including membership packs and magazines. Deal with supporter enquiries by email or phone and ensure these are passed on to the relevant teams. Provide support to organisations and individuals that are fundraising for the organisation. Assist with the promotion and support of the WVS Charity Shop Work with the wider team to develop content for appeals and fundraising initiatives Assist the marketing team with other tasks including research, events, and any other relevant activities. Proficient in Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint The ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends occasionally when the charity requires.
