Job Description:
About Us: Outwood Academy Kirkby
Outwood Academy Kirkby is an 11-16 academy located in the market town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on the eastern edge of the Erewash Valley, bordering Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Joining the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022, we are committed to providing an exceptional education for every student and are currently awaiting our first Ofsted inspection as part of the Trust.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Lee Wilson and Principal Mark Golden, we foster a welcoming and supportive environment where students are at the heart of everything we do. We are driven by a relentless determination to cultivate a culture of success and a positive climate for learning, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and enriching. Our holistic approach to education aims to create a safe, secure, and thriving learning community that promotes healthy and sustainable lifestyles, empowering students to explore and pursue stimulating and rewarding career pathways.
As part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, we benefit from a high-quality learning and cultural environment that inspires and motivates both students and staff. The Trust is committed to leadership development, succession planning, and capacity building, facilitating rapid progression for those seeking advancement at all levels. This commitment is reflected in the achievements of other Outwood academies, all of which have received the IQM Inclusive Schools Award, with many achieving Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status. We strive to achieve the same high standards at Outwood Academy Kirkby.
Outwood Academy Kirkby has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join our team. You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring to maximise student attainment.
As a Learning Manager you must have the ability to work with students and have a real interest in the issues faced by the students. You will monitor and support all students in the year group, both academically and behaviourally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Coordinator and the Leadership Team on improving student behaviour, attendance and outcomes. Day to day, you will work with students to help them to be the best they can be.
The successful candidate must be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and be able to lead by example are essential. You will be required to deal with students, parents and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner.
