We’re on the hunt for a talented Property & Combined Underwriter to join our growing team based in our Elmstead Market office. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring and retaining profitable business while underwriting within delegated authority.
As the UK Commercial MGA for Ardonagh Advisory; a Gold rated Investor in Customer insurance business Geo specialise in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine and Protection lines.
So, what does the role of a Property & Combined Underwriter here involve?
As a Property & Combined Underwriter you will provide a pivotal role in assessing and evaluating risks, managing portfolios, and driving underwriting results. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:
1. Underwrite renewal risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities.
2. Handle mid-term adjustments.
3. Ensure all renewal documents are accurately produced and recorded.
4. Achieve a high quality of underwriting and record keeping.
5. Negotiate renewals and proactively chase renewal confirmation.
6. Maintain a profitable book of business.
7. Develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders.
What experience does a Property & Combined Underwriter need?
8. Ideally CII qualified or working towards.
9. Previous underwriting experience.
10. Experience of working within an MGA environment and an understanding of the use of binding authority guidelines and authorities would be advantageous.
11. A working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework.
12. IT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
