Salary: £27,425 - £40,369 per annum
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week, permanent

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student progress, contributing to course development, and undertaking administrative and tutorial duties. This role includes teaching a diverse range of learners, developing teaching materials, conducting assessments, and liaising with industry professionals.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Lecturer in Plumbing:
• Teaching and Learning Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Plumbing programs, including evenings and weekends, adapting teaching methods to meet learner needs and ensuring curriculum alignment.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to course design, creating teaching materials such as schemes of work, assignments, and assessments, ensuring content aligns with industry standards.
• Assessment and Feedback: Conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate student records. Participate in internal and external verification processes.
• Student Support: Act as a course tutor, tracking student progress, setting targets, and maintaining communication with students, parents, and employers regarding achievements and areas for improvement.
• Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, progress reporting, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Industry Liaison: Manage work placements and build industry relationships to enhance learning opportunities for students.
• Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings, course reviews, and curriculum development, sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.
• Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and continually develop teaching methods through professional development.
• Compliance and Safeguarding: Ensure adherence to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity policies, fostering a safe, inclusive environment.
• Additional Duties: Support college activities and recruitment initiatives and take on other responsibilities as required.
Essential Requirements of the Lecturer in Plumbing:
• Advanced Craft/NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
• Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent (support provided if not held)
• Assessor and Internal Verification qualifications (A1/V1 or equivalent preferred)
• Substantial and recent industry experience
• Knowledge of current Plumbing curriculum
Skills:
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency in IT for creating teaching resources
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of various ages and abilities
Special Considerations:
• Evening and weekend work may be required
• Travel between college centres may be necessary
