Due to continued demand for their products and services, they are looking to grow their team with the appointment of a Project Engineer on a permanent basis.
If you are a recent Engineering Graduate or CAD Engineer looking to pursue a career within Project Engineering, or if you have some experience in Project Engineering and are seeking your next challenge, this could be the opportunity for you.
As a Project Engineer, you will be accountable for managing selected project orders and interfacing with the customer.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Project management and planning.
* Attending internal pre-contract meetings, obtaining required project information, and providing technical advice prior to order acceptance.
* Receiving and acknowledging receipt of Steelwork Contractor AFC detail drawings.
* Preparing schedules, programmes, and registers in conjunction with detail draughtsmen for internal and external communication and reporting.
* Monitoring drawing office progress against the critical path programme and preparing necessary main contractor weekly progress reports.
* Attending all internal process meetings following order acceptance, advising on the status of design and/or detailing programme, and obtaining progress updates for client communication.
* Attending client meetings, where instructed, to resolve design, detailing, technical, and commercial questions as necessary.
* Establishing and maintaining regular liaison processes and procedures with clients on the detailing, technical, and commercial aspects of projects.
* Preparing and issuing all formal reports as directed by the Technical Manager.
* Directly supporting detail draughtsmen and administrative personnel as required for the effective operation of projects.
Design and Detailing
* Ensuring that the Company procedures regarding quality assurance are adopted within the department.
* Appointing support detail draughtsmen to projects in conjunction with the Technical Manager.
* Reviewing contract documentation, including tender details, and coordinating or preparing the production of drawings and details for client approval and fabrication.
* Raising, recording, and resolving all technical queries with clients affecting design, detailing, and fabrication.
* Maximizing returns to the Company through economical use of material and efficient detailing methods.
* Maintaining programme timescales for the production of drawn information, including records on the issue, receipt, and approval of all project drawings and details.
* Attending site to establish dimensions or resolve queries to ensure correct implementation of fabrication.
The ideal qualifications and experience of a Project Engineer:
* HND / Mechanical Engineering Degree or Equivalent.
* Ability to read technical drawings.
* Exposure to working within a similar industry.
* Experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
